About Leslie

Designer Leslie Courreges wears an Eleanor Cape in New Orleans' historic French Quarter.

Originally from Texas, Leslie studied architecture at Texas A&M before moving to New Orleans in 2005. Her love of design began at age 5, when she began sewing and designing quilts. By junior high school, she was designing her own clothing. Upon moving to New Orleans, she spent years working in the Mardi Gras costuming industry, honing her skills with embroidery, beadwork, and couture finishing.

From 2011 to 2015, she owned RetroActive Vintage, the premiere vintage destination in New Orleans. Pieces from RetroActive Vintage, as well as Leslie's personal collection, can be found in television shows and film like Feud, Scream Queens, Eve's Bayou, All the King's Men, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Ray, The Astronaut Wives Club, Into the Badlands,  Beautiful Creatures, The Butler, and The Skeleton Key.

Leslie’s background combines a love of structure, silhouette, and history - all trademark details in her collections. Her love of architecture can be found in the precise and exacting geometry of the garments; the beading, sequins, and hand finishing of each piece is a testament to the love, pride, and tradition inherent in carnival costuming.

Be a Courageous Woman. Be a Courreges Woman.
