Leslie Courreges’s Shirley Top is named for the 20th-century literary icon, Shirley Jackson. A prolific writer, Jackson wrote six novels, two memoirs, and over 200 short stories, including The Lottery and The Haunting of Hill House. Jackson was the embodiment of 20th-century feminism and a Courreges Woman, serving as the family’s primary breadwinner, while also managing the household’s cooking and cleaning.
